RATS
Two of the most common rats in Ontario are the Roof Rat and Norway Rat. Both rats are destructive and carry disease.
The Norway Rat is also known as the sewer rat, brown rat and wharf rats.
Norway rats can easily find their way into your home by squeezing through an opening the size of a quarter. They gnaw through wood and wiring which can cause significant damage to your home or business.
The Norway rat needs to have a consistent source of water and food, even if that source of water is the condensation off of the pipes in your home or business and pet droppings left in the yard.
They burrow holes into the ground and have several exit points as they use these holes to travel from one place to another to forage for food, water and nesting materials.
Norway rats can contaminate food and transmit diseases with their droppings, urine and saliva.
